Srinagar, February 16: Authorities have issued roll number slips to 22 students enrolled in the Global Islamic School, located in Padshahibagh, Srinagar. The students were also allotted an exam center at Government Higher Secondary School Chanapora.
Earlier Denial of Roll Number Slips
Earlier, these students had been denied roll number slips to appear in exams set to commence on February 17. This issue triggered sharp criticism from various public quarters, with many calling for strict action against the individuals responsible for jeopardizing the students’ futures.
Education Minister Steps In
Minister of Education, Sakina Itoo, intervened on Saturday evening to resolve the matter. She assured the students that their futures would be secured and that the authorities would take strict action against those involved in the mishap.
Minister’s Statement on Social Media
Minister Itoo took to the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter) to assure the public. She said, “I have been closely & seriously watching the issue for the last 3 days; the future of the 22 students of class 10th shall be secured. Action against those who have played a role in the future of these students shall be taken. Will ensure that these students are allowed to appear in the exams.”
