BJP Ends 27-Year Wait, Secures Massive Win in Delhi
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has registered a historic victory in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025, defeating the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). In a stunning political shift, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia lost their seats. This marks the end of AAP’s rule in Delhi, as BJP takes power with a huge majority.
BJP’s Strong Performance
After 27 years, BJP has finally returned to power in Delhi. The people of the capital rejected AAP so decisively that even the party’s top two leaders, Kejriwal and Sisodia, suffered defeats. The early trends indicated a close contest, but soon, BJP pulled ahead, leaving AAP far behind.
Currently, BJP is leading on 47 seats, while AAP is ahead on 23. With 70 assembly seats in Delhi and a majority mark of 36, BJP has secured a clear win. The party headquarters is celebrating, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address BJP workers at 7:30 PM.
Big Defeats for AAP Leaders
- Arvind Kejriwal lost from New Delhi to Parvesh Verma by 1,200 votes.
- Manish Sisodia lost from Jangpura.
AAP’s defeat was predicted in most exit polls, and the final results have confirmed those projections. With this victory, BJP has re-established its dominance in the capital, setting the stage for a new political landscape in Delhi.
