Fresh Snowfall Across Kashmir: Latest Update
Several areas of Kashmir, including both higher altitudes and some plains, witnessed fresh snowfall.
In Shopian, the plains recorded 2-3 inches of snow, while the higher elevations accumulated 8-12 inches. Similarly, Kulgam and Anantnag districts experienced snowfall, with the plains receiving between 1 cm and 2 inches, whereas the higher altitudes saw over a foot of snow.
Pulwama’s plains received light snowfall, while central Kashmir had intermittent rainfall since yesterday. Higher regions such as Sonamarg, Zojila Pass, and Doodhpathri saw moderate to heavy snowfall, with Doodhpathri measuring around 1 foot and Sonamarg reaching 1.5 feet of snow accumulation.
In North Kashmir, higher altitudes, including Gulmarg, Gurez, Razdan Top, Z Gali, and Sadhna Pass, received moderate to heavy snowfall. However, the lower areas primarily experienced rainfall with minimal snow.
