The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the deadline for fresh admissions and re-registration for the current academic session until February 15, 2025. This extension provides an opportunity for students who were unable to complete their enrollment within the previous deadline.
New Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP)
This year, IGNOU has introduced Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUP) in various disciplines, including:
- Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, and Anthropology
- Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Biochemistry
- Facilities and Service Management
Study Centres Across the Kashmir Valley
Prospective students can enroll through a network of study centres, including:
- Government degree colleges
- SKIMS, NIELIT, Composite Regional Centre Srinagar
- Kashmir University and centres in the Union Territories of Kargil and Ladakh
The Regional Centre Srinagar also serves as a special study centre for programs not available at other Learner Support Centres.
IT & Technology-Based Programmes
For students interested in technology-focused courses like BCA, MCA, and MSCIS, NIELIT Srinagar functions as a dedicated study centre. NIELIT will also provide mentorship and specialized training programs to support entrepreneurship in IT and electronics.

Dr. A. H. Rizvi, Regional Director of IGNOU, emphasized that extending the admission and re-registration deadlines will help more students access quality education.
Additionally, students in their 2nd or 3rd year of studies under the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and online modes are urged to re-register before February 15, 2025, to avoid delays.
