Actor Vijay has officially announced the title and unveiled the first-look poster for his much-anticipated film, Thalapathy 69. In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) this Sunday, Vijay also introduced the title of the film—Jana Nayagan—along with a glimpse of his character.
The poster features Vijay standing on top of a vehicle, capturing a selfie with a crowd of supporters cheering behind him. The people are dressed in white outfits, creating a sea of unity and excitement.
Vijay’s look in the poster shows him in a blue denim shirt, black pants, and matching shoes, accessorized with dark sunglasses. He appears smiling and confident, with one hand placed on his waist while he clicks the selfie. His brief caption simply read “#JanaNayagan.” The film’s music will be composed by Anirudh, and it is being produced by KVN Productions.
The announcement quickly garnered excitement from fans, with one commenting, “The main man, Vijay. Feel the BGM,” while another added, “#Thalapathy69 is officially titled #JANANAYAGAN! Jana Nayagan: A Political Action Thriller
Jana Nayagan is set to be a Tamil-language political action thriller starring Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Mamitha Baiju, Monisha Blessy, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. It marks Vijay’s 69th film as the lead actor and is expected to be his last before entering politics.
The film was officially announced in September 2024 under the tentative title Thalapathy 69. It will be the studio’s first Tamil production.
Vijay’s Political Ambitions
In February 2025, Vijay announced plans to contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections with a newly formed political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. In his statement, Vijay expressed his goal of creating a corruption-free, progressive, and secular government, emphasizing the current political divide and the pervasive corruption in the system.
