The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the admit cards for the JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exams scheduled for January 28, 29, and 30. Candidates appearing on these dates can download their admit cards from the official website, jeemain.nta.ac.in. To access the document, applicants must input their application number and date of birth.
Important Note on Barcode Visibility
The NTA has emphasized that candidates should ensure the barcode on their admit card is clearly visible while downloading it to avoid any issues during verification at the examination center.
Prayagraj Centers Moved to Varanasi Due to Maha Kumbh
Due to the anticipated heavy crowd of devotees in Prayagraj for Maha Kumbh, the NTA has relocated examination centers from Prayagraj to Varanasi for exams on January 28, 29, and 30. In an official statement, the NTA explained, “Many candidates expressed difficulties in reaching Prayagraj centers due to large gatherings during Maha Kumbh. Hence, the centers were shifted to Varanasi to ensure smooth conduct of the exams.”
JEE Main 2025 Exam Schedule
JEE Main Paper 1 (for undergraduate engineering courses like BE and BTech) will take place on January 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29 in two shifts:
- Morning Shift: 9 AM to 12 Noon
- Afternoon Shift: 3 PM to 6 PM
Paper 2 (B Arch and B Planning) is scheduled for January 30 from 3 PM to 6 PM.
Structure of JEE Main Papers
JEE Main comprises three papers focusing on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The exam includes 90 questions in total, divided into:
- Section A: 20 multiple-choice questions per subject
- Section B: 10 numerical-based questions per subject, out of which candidates must attempt five.
Eligibility for JEE Advanced and IIT Admission
After both sessions of JEE Main are completed, the NTA will announce the students’ ranks based on their best scores. The top 2,50,000 candidates will qualify for JEE Advanced, which serves as the gateway to IITs.
To appear for JEE Advanced, candidates must either:
- Score at least 75% in their Class 12 exams, or
- Rank in the top 20 percentile of their respective board examinations.
