Srinagar, Feb 4: Jammu and Kashmir is set to experience a fresh spell of light to moderate snowfall in the higher reaches, while the plains and South Kashmir may see light snowfall, according to the latest weather updates.
In Jammu, light rain is expected in the plains, while the Chenab Valley could witness light snowfall. Central and North Kashmir’s higher altitudes are also likely to receive snowfall, with a mix of light snow and rain in the plains.
The weather is expected to clear up by tomorrow afternoon, bringing dry conditions until the night of February 9. However, another round of snowfall and light rain is likely between February 9 and 10.
With Chillai Kalan, the harshest 40-day winter period, now over, night temperatures have started to improve. A gradual rise in both daytime and nighttime temperatures is expected in the coming days, with no major drop anticipated.
