Srinagar, Feb 01 (JKNS): Amid growing speculation over the installation of water meters, Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Kashmir has clarified that there are no such plans in place.
The clarification follows rumors suggesting that water meters would first be installed in commercial establishments.
Chief Engineer Jal Shakti Kashmir, Bharam Jyoti Sharma, told news agency JKNS, “We have no plans to install smart meters in Kashmir, and no directions have been issued.”
Addressing concerns regarding commercial establishments, he added, “Whenever we receive directions, meters will be installed in commercial establishments first. However, as of now, there are no such plans.”
Additionally, National Conference Chief Spokesperson Tanvir Sadiq also affirmed that there are no plans for installing water meters and assured that no water fees will be charged. (JKNS)
