New Delhi, Jan 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address before the start of the new Parliament session, took a subtle jab at the opposition, pointing out that, for the first time in a decade, there were no external forces attempting to incite unrest ahead of the proceedings.

The PM remarked, “For the first time in 10 years, there has been no external spark, no one stoking the flames of dissent. This is the first session where neither foreign nor domestic influences have initiated any disturbances.” He further emphasized that, in previous years, it had become customary for external events to create tensions in India prior to parliamentary sessions.

“Over the last 10 years, it has been observed that before every session, there would always be some form of mischief being prepared. This time, however, things are different,” Modi said, addressing the media.

As part of his traditional pre-session address, PM Modi also offered his prayers to Maa Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity, ahead of the Budget Session. He expressed his hopes that the goddess would bless the country’s poor and middle class, and reaffirmed his commitment to their welfare.

Reflecting on India’s achievements, the PM took pride in the country’s 75 years of democratic history. “It’s a source of great pride for India and the world that we have completed 75 years as a democratic nation. India is firmly standing on the global stage,” Modi said.

Looking ahead, the Prime Minister shared his optimism for India’s future, stating, “This Budget will lay the foundation for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) by 2047, when we celebrate 100 years of independence. This budget will instill new energy and hope across the nation, helping the 140 crore people fulfill this goal.”

Emphasizing his government’s focus on holistic development, PM Modi outlined the roadmap for India’s growth: “Our vision for development includes innovation, inclusion, and investment. This session will witness key discussions on historic bills. Our government is committed to reform, performance, and transformation, with a collaborative effort between the Centre and states.”

He concluded by highlighting the importance of youth in India’s development, saying, “India’s youth, especially those in their mid-20s today, will benefit most from this vision of a developed India. By the time they are 45-46 years old, they will experience the full impact of these efforts.”

Modi encouraged all Members of Parliament to contribute to India’s goal of becoming a “Viksit Bharat,” underscoring the significance of this session, especially for young MPs, who will be key witnesses to India’s transformative journey.
