
New Delhi, Jan 31: Ahead of the 2025 Budget Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged both state and central governments to work in tandem to drive the country’s progress. Speaking to the media on Parliament grounds, he emphasized the importance of collaboration for achieving national goals.
Paying homage to Goddess Lakshmi, the symbol of prosperity, the Prime Minister noted that her blessings are especially significant on the occasion of the Budget Session, which marks a time to reflect on the country’s future prosperity and welfare.
Modi also extended his prayers to Goddess Lakshmi for the well-being of India’s poorer and middle-class communities, wishing them continued growth and prosperity.
The Prime Minister reflected on India’s remarkable 75-year journey as a Republic, calling it a proud milestone not only for the country but for the democratic world as well. He reiterated that India’s achievement stands as a testament to the nation’s growing significance and power.
Acknowledging the trust the people have placed in him, Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for being entrusted with the responsibility of leading the government for a third consecutive term. He emphasized that this Budget Session marks the beginning of his third term’s first full session, filled with aspirations for the country’s future.
Looking ahead to 2047, when India will mark its 100th year of independence, Modi outlined his vision for India’s development, expressing confidence that the country will be a fully developed nation by then.
In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized that the Budget Session would foster renewed confidence and collective energy across the nation, inspiring citizens to work towards achieving their shared goals. He highlighted that the government’s approach is focused on innovation, inclusion, and investment as the cornerstones of the nation’s economic strategy.
The session will also discuss historic bills and proposals aimed at strengthening the nation, with a particular focus on empowering women and ensuring equality for all, irrespective of their religion or background.
Reaffirming his commitment to the country’s comprehensive development, the Prime Minister outlined a strategic vision focused on reform, performance, and transformation. He underscored that the collaboration between state and central governments, alongside public participation, will drive this transformation.
Acknowledging the role of India’s youth, Modi spoke of the significant power of the nation’s younger generation. He noted that today’s youth, aged 20-25, will be the torchbearers of a developed India in the coming decades. The Prime Minister drew a parallel with the youth of the independence movement, stressing that the nation’s current youth will similarly lead the country into an era of prosperity.
Modi urged all Members of Parliament (MPs) to contribute to the realization of India’s vision for the future, calling the Budget Session a golden opportunity for young MPs to actively participate and witness the unfolding of India’s development.
Finally, the Prime Minister expressed hope that the Budget Session will align with the aspirations of the nation and underscored that, for the first time in a decade, there had been no attempt to disrupt the session from foreign sources, marking a new chapter in India’s political landscape.
