Traffic Status on NH-44
Subject to favorable weather and improved road conditions, Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs), including passenger and private cars, as well as Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs), will be permitted to travel in both directions on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44). Traffic Control Units (TCU) in Jammu and Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban for real-time updates on road conditions. Commuters are advised to check the Jammu & Kashmir Traffic Police Twitter handle and Facebook page for the latest updates.
Security Forces Convoy Movement
Security Forces’ vehicles will also be allowed to move in both directions on NH-44, provided the weather remains favorable and road conditions are satisfactory.
Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag NH-244
As per the advisory issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kokernag (Reference: SDM/KNG/2024-25/3139-45, dated 16-01-2025), the Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag road remains closed for vehicular movement.
Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari (SSG) Road
The SSG road is currently closed due to snow accumulation. A decision regarding vehicular movement will be made after clearance from road maintenance agencies.
Mughal Road
As per District Magistrate Poonch’s order (Reference: DMP/JC/7273-92, dated 18-01-2025), the Mughal Road remains closed due to heavy snowfall.
Bhaderwah-Chamba Road
This road continues to be closed due to snow accumulation.
